[WATCH] Pale Waves – “Perfume”

UK alt-pop darlings, Pale Waves, are back and we’re quite smitten…pun intended!

The band have unleashed new single, “Perfume,” and have announced their fourth album, Smitten, out on September 20 via Dirty Hit.

Taking on a The Cure meets The Cranberries vibe, “Perfume” and it’s accompanying video brings listeners to a lovestruck fairytale in a land far away for an introduction into the band’s new world.

“‘Perfume’ is the perfect introduction into the new world we’ve created,” shares lead singer Heather Baron-Gracie. “It’s queer, feminine and romantic and it encapsulates the essence of ‘Smitten.’”

Smitten is set to delve into romantic nostalgia while reflecting upon one’s roots and the journey into the present.

“I found myself writing about not just a certain time period, but my whole life, from years ago,” Heather adds. “When I fall in love, I fall deep, and it’s interesting to me that you can feel so fascinated and smitten with someone and then they can become a total stranger. So, I feel like ‘Smitten’ really summarized perfectly what I felt for others at a certain point.”
