The former Voice contestant is gearing up for the release of her debut album, Cry Baby, on August 14 via Atlantic Records and has been sharing the record’s story in stunning visuals that are equally stimulating as they are satisfying. In “Sippy Cup,” Martinez preaches my own personal motto that you can drown your sorrows in as many substances as you want, but your demons will still be there. Penning the new genre of “carnival pop,” the Martinez movement is only the beginning.
