UK-born/Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter, Jade Bird, has made her triumphant return after a three year hiatus, and she has a lot to catch listeners up on!
New single, “Burn The Hard Drive” featuring Mura Masa delves into the singer’s broken engagement as she watches the one she thought she’d spend the rest of her life with fade away.
The track’s accompanying video – directed by Aries Moross, whom the singer previously worked with for the visuals for her debut album – feels more like a bittersweet goodbye as silhouettes appear then vanish quickly, symbolizing the singer’s hope for what could have been versus the new beginning before her.
“‘Burn the Hard Drive’ was a song I wrote while still in my last relationship. I think my subconscious knew before I did that it was over. But also, that the ending would be where so much more could begin.”
“Burn The Hard Drive” is set to be featured on Jade’s forthcoming third album – the follow-up to 2021’s Different Kinds of Light – due out this year.
