San Francisco’s gloomy june are gearing up for the release of their forthcoming album and what better way to tease listeners than with a killer synth-pop/emo track to hold us over?
New track, “Back From The Dead,” can best be described as if PVRIS and Pale Waves had a love child. Perfect for those frolics in a graveyard (I mean, no judgment here), “Back From The Dead” finds the band blurring the lines between genres, giving listeners a fresh twist with something to look forward to for 2025!
“There’s something so fun about coming up with a metaphorical idea for a song like ‘Back from The Dead’ and then making a music video about the literal meaning instead. The filmmaker Kevin Burleigh, the rest of the band and I drove out to Piedmont Cemetery, and skulked around graves and crypts while trying to avoid a security guard in a Ford F-150 who seemed used to kicking out spooky rock bands. The song ‘Back from The Dead’ is about the experience of early relationships when you seemingly disappear from your friends for days while spending time with the new partner. Then, like a zombie, you come back into your ‘regular’ life.”
