Just when you thought Fleurie couldn’t be any more fairy-like, she goes and unleashes a video like this! Not only is the Nashville singer/songwriter our favorite indie-pop fairy, but now we can add space goddess to our list!
It’s been almost a year since the release of Fleurie’s Portals, but the love for this album is still as vibrant as it was ten months ago. Now, with the release of the video for “A World Beyond,” we’re given a glimpse into the mind of a kindred as the highs and lows of connection and loss overwhelm the senses.
“‘A World Beyond’ is one of the most personal songs on my album, Portals,“ shared Fleurie to Forbes. “I wrote it about a friendship in my life that painfully and slowly severed as I tried to hang on. My friend, NYC-based film director Elle Ginter, and I wanted to make a video that took my fans to many different worlds as we captured the emotions of this song. There’s such an energy of tension and release in these lyrics and we wanted to capture the whiplash of the cycle of feeling in and then out of control in life and relationships.”
