Nashville singer-songwriter, Cecilia Castleman, has just released her self-titled debut album today via Glassnote and highlight track, “Waiting On You,” just got the visual treatment!
Filmed at Jeremy Ferguson’s Nashville studio, Battle Tapes, and directed and edited by Oscar Villanueva, the music video for “Waiting On You” showcases Castleman in her element as she reflects on a pivotal moment in her life.
Sonically, “Waiting On You” is as poignant as you might imagine – weaving together hope, frustration, grief and the pains of never quite knowing where you stand with someone who means so much. Superbly on point.
“This is one of my favorite songs on the record,” she says. “I wrote it with a friend of mine, Daniel Tashian, who also produced this version. All of my influences show in this song—Dire Straits, John Mayer, Fleetwood Mac. The video was filmed in my friend Jeremy’s studio, Battle Tapes, in Nashville. I wanted to show what my day-to-day life is really like: in a room full of gear, just trying to make something that reflects the time period in my life.”
