Miami quartet, Better Strangers, features singer deCasa, guitarist Joey Rodriguez, bassist Yang Waingarten, and drummer Nic Collins. While Collins may be the son of Phil Collins and has played drums for Genesis for the past several years, we think this new endeavor might be the icing on the cake.
The band’s debut single, “But I Don’t Know Your Name,” unloads a lot of emotional turmoil as it centers on a rather platonic fixation that later turns into a dark and deranged obsession, as displayed in the track’s accompanying video.
Fans of Deftones, Nine Inch Nails, and Teenage Wrist will appreciate the band’s homage to 90’s meets early 2000’s alternative rock while still adding a modern spin for good measure. With a killer debut like this, we’re sure it’ll only be a matter of time before these guys are a household name.
