Pop/R&B songstress, BANKS, has returned with her first single in two years, “The Devil.”
While cooped up in quarantine, the singer went through a mental transformation – or an exorcism of sorts – expelling her demons and morphing into the bad ass we all know and love and then some. “The Devil” displays her newfound confidence, adding a sexy, playful and rather humorous edge to the concept of overcoming your demons by becoming stronger than them.
“The time of corona was mentally transformative for me. Spending that much time on my own allowed me to dig deep into my demons and crack through the bottom,” shared BANKS. “One night I had a revelation that in order to overcome your demons you have to be stronger than a demon. And what is stronger than a demon? A Devil. ‘The Devil’ is about being stronger than the demons that haunt you. About rebirth and transformation into the forces of nature we were born to be. I came out of some dark mental scripts that have kept me trapped for a long time through this song and I hope it can do the same thing for you.”
One thing is for sure: this girl always leaves listeners feeling like a bad bitch who can conquer anything. Awaiting that album release date any time now!
