We can always count on The New Division for quality jams, and new single, “Silent Films” – which we are excited to premiere today – does not disappoint!
The third release of 2022 from TND, “Silent Films” is as cinematic as its title featuring signature droning synths, soaring vocals from frontman John Kunkel and an ambiguous storyline of a turbulent relationship of two screenwriters during the early stages of filmmaking.
“I thought writing a piece of music about something I’m unfamiliar with would be a fun exercise,” shared Kunkel. “That later translated into ‘Silent Films,’ which goes into what the lyrics portray. While the song isn’t immediately straightforward about who’s on the wrong or right, I think there’s an open-ended spirit of competition that the listener can dissect between the lines.”
“Silent Films” will be part of a more extensive collection of songs that The New Division plans to release potentially at the end of the year, leading up to their anticipated 5th LP!
