[PREMIERE] In Parallel – “Fashioner (No Exit)”

If you’ve been following the musical journey of Nashville alternative/shoegaze band In Parallel, you’ve probably been waiting for a killer visual for “Fashioner (No Exit)” – the stunning title track off of their newly released EP of the same name that we are honored to be premiering here today!

While there has been no shortage of quality content from our favorite artists during isolation, this one just about tops the cake with its haunting visuals and epic DIY performance shots, appropriate for Halloween season!

The band did have grand plans to shoot a proper video but as we all know, times are different now due to COVID. Artists are taking things into their own hands, proving that when it comes to art, there will always be a way if we dig a little deeper and push ourselves.

“Earlier this year we had the idea of doing a video for each song on ‘Fashioner’, but by the end of March all those ideas were out the window with Covid-19 on the rise,” shared bassist Jesse Fine. “We shifted our thoughts and began to wonder what we could come up with using stock video and heavy editing for possible lyric videos. With some intense tweaking we came up with some ideas that fit each song and the record as a whole visually. We had ‘Fashioner (No Exit)’ ready as a lyric video, but out of all the tunes its treatment was the most fitting to add live footage over. After a brief brainstorm session on a Zoom call, we developed the idea of how to film each of us separately at home. We wanted to create a mysterious mood that matched the song, and with the addition of the live footage it brought a dark 80’s quality to it that wasn’t expected. We are happy with the result and hope everyone enjoys it.”
