Brooklyn’s Brain Tan is the synthpop project from musician Rob Arbelo. With a healthy array of electro jams that stand out from all the rest, Brain Tan has become a household name here at TDL. Tomorrow, September 8, marks the release of new EP, Comfort Object, which we are excited to premiere here today!
While the entire project may feel like an enigma of sorts, Arbelo prefers to let the music speak for itself.
“I thought I was going to release an EP a year ago but I kept procrastinating and abandoning songs to focus on other ones. A couple of these I started as far back as 2012 and others I wrote in the past year. I have a hard time being satisfied with my stuff or finishing anything. I’m always deciding that songs I thought were done aren’t actually done, so it’s kind of a miracle that I’ve been able to get five songs to the finish line at the same time without scrapping or delaying any. I’m excited for people to hear this and I’m also excited to keep writing and maybe just put out singles on a more regular basis in the future.”
