Synth-pop/rock duo, Your Future Ghost, is the deliriously exciting new musical project of Billboard-charting singer/songwriter, Kate Voegele, and songwriter/producer Michael Grubbs (Wakey!Wakey!).
You might remember the duo from a little show on The CW called One Tree Hill? Yes, this is a big deal here for OTH fans!
After meeting on set, the duo naturally formed a fast friendship and mutual creative respect but it wasn’t until the pandemic when they began collaborating musically over Zoom. After months of studio sessions in Austin, TX, Your Future Ghost was born and first single, “We’ve Got Places” is a rather refreshing, heartwarming debut!
“‘We’ve Got Places’ is a single all about about that place where you find refuge from whatever noise is going on in the world – whether it’s an actual place, a person, or something else, I think we all have those places where we can escape the chaos and be ourselves,” shared Voegele.
The duo are set to release an album full of their new signature “dirty indie/synthpop” inspired by, according to Voegele, “finding the fun, the party, and the refuge in the chaos of a post-apocalyptic world.”
