London trio, The New Twentys, are a breath of fresh air in an over-saturated genre. Comprised of brothers Harry and Jimmy Morris and best mate Chris Bourne, The New Twentys are completely independent as they write, record and produce everything themselves. We love the DIY spirit!
2022 is going to be the year you’ll be hearing a lot more from these guys. New single, “Heart’s In The Right Place,” serves as a middle finger to anyone who tries to belittle your passions while attempting to drag you down into their small-minded universe where they assume they have everything figured out. We all know at least one person like that, so needless to say, this one is super relatable!
Blending alternative rock with indie-pop for a blissful mix of authentic anthems for anyone from all walks of life, “Heart’s In The Right Place” deserves the top spot on all those playlists this year.
“This song is for everyone who feels patronized by someone for following their dreams. You know, we are often asked, ‘Oh how’s the band doing?’ and after explaining all the trials and tribulations, highs and lows, (crazy industry to start with, plus a pandemic for good measure) a common response is a condescending, ‘Well at least your heart’s in the right place and you’re doing what you love, you’re still young, I guess.’ Probably the same type of person who came up with the government’s “Rethink, Reskill, Reboot” campaign. This song serves as a middle finger to all the people who try to trample on your passions, the types that act like they’ve got life figured out, and want you to share their same small view of the world. ‘They say my heart’s in the right place as though the rest of me ain’t.'”
