After dazzling us with our first taste of what’s in store for 2021 with “Sequence,” The New Division return with new track, “Stateside,” via Division 87 Records.
We all know that normal life and and even love can look different these days, especially during a pandemic. “Stateside” delves into the topic of settling for love across the pond amidst the chaos going on in the world. Are real connections lost, are we even more connected than we initially thought, or are we better off on our own?
“I wrote this song during the pandemic and thought about all the people who were together before everything went down, but then got separated for one reason or another,” shared singer/producer John Kunkel. “Not being able to see each other during that time, all while under lockdown must’ve been difficult. I tried to put myself in their shoes, thought about how I would’ve reacted, how they would’ve felt and the lyrics stemmed from that very place.”
