Let’s just take a moment to reflect on the fact that it has been almost four years since we were last graced with new music from St. Lucia. 2018 saw the release of the band’s third record, Hyperion, and needless to say, fans have been dying for more of their signature feel good anthems! If you really want to go down memory lane, this March will mark a decade since the release of the band’s self-titled debut EP. Time flies!
It’s no secret that the past two years have definitely distorted our concept of time. If we need anything right now, it’s new music from St. Lucia. It may have taken a while, but our favorite husband and wife duo have returned with a new record on the way via new label, Nettwerk Records, and new single!
New track, “Rocket On My Feet” is everything we’ve been anticipating and then some. The track’s accompanying video offers retro animation and beachy dance vibes for days. Now that they’re back, we only want more!
“It feels so good to finally have new music out in the world after nearly four years,” Jean-Philip Grobler shares. “We were deeply affected by the pandemic on so many levels, just like everyone—and there’s a whole side to our new material that deals with those darker feelings. But at some point in early 2021, a light began to shine through this new music and we started to realize that it’s important for us to inspire people, and ourselves, to truly live again. The world has become so divided, but music is one thing that can bring us back together.”
