pure xtc – the project of multi-instrumentalist, Taylor Hughes – had a pretty bad ass summer. After releasing her killer track, “shadow,” she opened for Dayglow and Dashboard Confessional and performed at PrideFest!
Today marks the release of new single, “get lost,” and in true pure xtc fashion, it’s definitely another head-turner! The track is set to be featured on the singer’s forthcoming sophomore EP, shed my skin, which will be dropping track-by-track throughout the month of September. To celebrate the release of the EP and her upcoming west coast tour, a special Hazy Blood Orange pure xtc IPA will be released in a collaboration with Crane Brewing!
“get lost” takes on a more lighter approach than her previous material, only proof that letting go is the way and being in a better headspace allows the light in.
“This song is about the best feeling on earth. New love, the feelings of euphoria when you find a new hot connection,” shared Hughes. “There’s nothing more exciting than hearing their secrets for the first time and walls are coming down. I imagined day 1 with the love of my life and how charged it was, and getting hit with that, ‘when you know, you know’ feeling for the first time. I stayed in that headspace the entire time I worked on this song.”
