We didn’t have to wait very long for a new track from indie-pop band, joan! After the success of previous single, “love me better,” the Arkansas duo – comprised of Alan Benjamin Thomas and Steven Rutherford – have now unveiled new track and video, “magnetic,” and let’s just say it will pull you in faster than any track they’ve released thus far…pun intended!
Delving into the art of trying to let someone go, but the pull is far too powerful to ever walk away completely, “magnetic” offers a warm, ’90s-inspired pop/R&B vibe that will for sure have you thinking about a certain someone in your life that fits the situation, especially during a time of social distancing.
“This song is sentimental. we started writing together while we were still in two separate projects,” shared Rutherford. “When I heard Alan working on “magnetic” for his band in the studio, I fell in love with it. We joked back and forth for several years about making it a joan song. When we were in Asia last fall working on lyrics for a few songs, this song just fell into our laps again and made sense to release under our name.”
