[Pick Of The Week] joan – “loner”

Alt-pop duo, joan, are set to release their highly anticipated debut album, superglue, on April 19! What we’ve heard so far has been top notch, but we wouldn’t expect anything less from these guys, and new single, “loner,” only proves that this album is going to be everything we hoped for and more!

Delving into being socially awkward at parties and gatherings, the band manages to turn something uncomfortable into a positive experience. A hopeful anthem for the loners out there, this one is definitely going to be a fan favorite!

We all dream of finding someone who really understands us, especially in those moments where you’re uncomfortable in your surroundings. The art of being saved from social situations is every introvert’s dream but once you add someone special to the mix, it gets interesting!

“You know when you go to a party or really anything with crowds, and you have that sort of pit in your stomach because you don’t feel like you belong and you really just don’t want to be there? That’s what ‘loner’ is about — being in those situations and knowing you’re better off just sticking to your own corner and keeping to yourself. But, it’s also about someone walking into that party that sees you and gets you and feels the same way you do and you’re thinking, “I’d rather be alone, you’d rather be alone, should we be alone together?” and all the sudden the thought of being with someone doesn’t seem so bad.”

joan are set to hit the road this spring in the US! Get tour dates & tickets here!
