Dublin-based band, BODIES, captured the hearts of listeners with their 2018 debut album, DRENCH, earning them critical acclaim within the indie/post-punk Irish music scene.
Heavily influenced by Nirvana, the band has unleashed their killer rendition of “Dumb,” just in time for In Utero’s 30th anniversary!
Dreamy as it is emotional, BODIES were able to capture the essence of the Nirvana classic in their own way, making it a poignant must-listen for all of those fall playlists!
“Apart from being a huge sonic Influence for us, Kurt Cobain is my favorite songwriter,” shared frontman David Anthony. “‘Dumb’ introduced me to a softer, more contemplative side of his writing. It was still filled with that Nirvana angst, though ‘Dumb’ seems filtered through a lens of apathy. I think a lot of our music combines these two elements so we wanted to explore what it would sound like if we approached the song with just the melody and see what happened musically.”
