[Pick Of The Week] Basement Revolver – “Baby”

You know when you come across a track that just feels like it could have been written by you? That’s what Basement Revolver’s “Baby” is for me.

The Ontario trio are gearing up for the release of their debut full-length, Heavy Eyes, (can we get a loud YASSSS!!?!) on August 24 via Sonic Unyon/Fear of Missing Out, and “Baby” is our first (and deliriously good) offering.

An anthem of underlying sadness and dissatisfaction, “Baby” is an ode to a significant other to explain how one’s anxiety and depression doesn’t reflect on the other person; a reassurance that patience is key and a shoulder to cry on is viewed as gold.

“It’s about feeling confused about what I want in life, and how that affects other people. It is about crying a lot and feeling like I was burdening my partner with those questions and not wanting him to feel like he was the source of my anxiety,” shared singer Chrisy Hurn.
