Nashville’s Your Neighbors – helmed by producer/songwriter Walker Robinson – is chock full of indie-pop goodness and new single, “DOGMA,” is just too irresistible to skip!
Diving into the frustrations of growing up in a religious household, “DOGMA,” bridges the gap between faith, losing one’s religion and the ability to be heard with a sunny yet poignant backdrop reminiscent of Foster The People meets Dayglow and COIN.
“This song essentially depicts someone turning their back on their religious upbringing,” says Robinson. “They’ve been told that God is there to answer their prayers but it seems like those prayers are falling on deaf ears. There’s a bit of ego depicted in the bridge where the person feels like they are ‘owed’ a miracle because of how hard their life is. If God doesn’t believe in me, why would I believe in them?”
