The countdown is on for Wallows‘ debut album, Nothing Happens, on March 22! After unleashing first single, “Are You Bored Yet?,” the band is back with another taste with new track “Scrawny” – a humorous break on the album meant to be devoured with a smile.
What one might decipher as a commentary on hipster culture, “Scrawny” takes on another meaning for the band.
Singer Dylan Minnette explained, “There were a lot of introspective moments on the album, and that’s cool to us and everything, but we were like, ‘We need something light – something that is borderline funny, just a moment on the album to make people smile. This sort of naturally came out. We started writing it while we were in the studio and wrote it really quickly in a couple of days, and then went back in and put it together with John Congleton.”
