Manchester indie-pop band, VALA, are ringing in the new year with some new music goodness! With an EP on the way, new track, “You Don’t Want My Love,” is the first of four, and boy is it some crazy good ear candy!
With a sound of a striking resemblance of indie gods, The Strokes, producer Gordon Raphael has helped the band through the recording process, and the results are magic! “You Don’t Want My Love” offers a shift in sound as the band braves new territory with dreamy lo-fi vibes for days! Fans of Wallows, Alvvays, and Porches: put this one at the top of those playlists!
“Everyone in Camp VALA is buzzing to finally be putting this song out,” shared frontman Joe Knowles. “It has been in the workshop for a couple of years now, being fine-tuned since I first wrote it one Christmas on a guitar that hadn’t been played since I was a teenager. It has reached its final form. We produced the track entirely ourselves and in the mixing phase, received a helping hand from producer Gordon Raphael who took the time to absorb the tracks and, after tidying up the vocal mix on ‘You Don’t Want My Love,’ sent the tracks to his mastering engineer, Frida, who polished them up ready for release. The advice he gave was invaluable and was a very generous ear for the project.”
