If you thought you’d never see a White Stripes song released into the world again, well today is your lucky day! Jack White just shared an unreleased White Stripes song by the name of “City Lights” to the public! Yup, you aren’t dreaming.
“City Lights” was originally written for the White Stripes fifth studio album, Get Behind Me Satan, back in 2005. However it was forgotten until revisited and finished by White this year. It is the first White Stripes song to be released to public ears since 2008.
The previously unreleased song is to appear on Jack White Acoustic Recordings 1998-2016 – a new album featuring a vast collection of acoustic versions, unreleased recordings and alternate mixes of songs from The White Stripes, The Raconteurs and Jack White’s solo work.
The album itself will consist of 26 remastered tracks and will be released physically (as a double LP and double CD) as well as released digitally, worldwide on September 9 via Third Man Records and Columbia Records.
