What I love most about fall is that every single one of my mellow-toned playlists seems to fit perfectly with the mood. With that being said, lovely Amber Bein, better known as The Japanese House has just given us the perfect track for the season.
Last year she got us all hooked with the release of her EP Saw You In a Dream and this time is no exception. “Lilo” is the singer’s new single – a smooth, synth-pop dream which she described for DIY Magazine as, “an ode to the blossoming of a new relationships.” It also concerns, in her words, “how, to me, her every movement – paired with her approach to life – seemed as serene as the image of a lilo floating across a swimming pool… it is a reminder to me that I am good at falling in love and I can survive falling out of it. I’m good at falling.”
The very soft sound of this track has got me all heart-eyed since I first heard it and, while we definitely can’t wait for her to finally release a complete album, this one song will do for now.
