Indie-pop newcomers, Stereo Club, captured our attention with their anthemic new single, “Stay Young.” With its catchy Maggie Rogers-esque vibe and relatable message of following your calling instead of playing it safe, “Stay Young” is one of those timeless gems that will continue to see heavy rotation on your playlists!
With the mundanity of life staring us in the face, “Stay Young” allows listeners to strive and hope for more, despite how bleak the future may look to some.
Produced by Jim Lowe, “Stay Young” is Stereo Club’s third release, following debut single, “Parma Violet Gin” and “Want You Still.”
“‘Stay Young’ was written at a time when we as a band were feeling quite demotivated with our everyday lives. Work pressures and a global pandemic got us questioning – surely there’s more to life than this. ‘Stay Young’ is our way of saying, yes there is. It’s a song about having the courage to go against the norm and mundanity of daily life and to follow your dreams – to live life to the fullest instead of blindly accepting that this is the way it is, and there’s no changing that. We recorded the song with producer Jim Lowe (Stereophonics, Taylor Swift, The Charlatans), who we also recorded our debut single with. Working with Jim was such an exceptional experience and he was really able to help us establish that sense of hope and rebellion within the track itself. It’s one of our favourite songs we’ve ever written as a band, and we are incredibly proud of the outcome.”
