If you’re quite apprehensive about what life post-lockdown has in store, you’re not alone. However, as stressful as the pandemic has been, we can’t deny that some of our favorite artists’ best material has been created during lockdown, and today’s new release from UK indie-pop band, Stay Lunar, is proof that magic can happen in the midst of chaos.
“Immediately” – released via SAM Records – takes the notion of resilience to another level, and just might be the band’s best track thus far. Swimming in lush synths and indie-pop hooks for days, “Immediately” captures the essence of being stuck in limbo while anticipating a monumental moment only to be met with dreams of tomorrow and a hope for what’s to come.
“During the time of writing the words for ‘Immediately,’ there were lots of uncertainties in life,” lyricist Harry Leigh explains. “We were starting to realise that we couldn’t put a timeframe on the return of live music and even getting together to write. I found this hard to deal with on top of the general life strain caused by Covid-19, and sleep became my escape from these thoughts and fears.”
