Indianapolis alt-pop band, Small Words – comprised of Nick Long, Zach Carroll, Aaron Lindauer and Daniel Glover – started in 2018 under the mission of creating music that listeners can resonate with on a deep, emotional level with the underlying mantra of, ‘It’s not about the size of the words, it’s how you use them.’ Mission accomplished!
New single, “Talk,” explores the challenges that often come with expressing vulnerability in a relationship. Delving into that desired balance of maintaining harmony whilst grappling with the weight of unspoken emotions, “Talk” is an anthem of sorts for those who may have lost someone due to lack of communication.
Sonically, the track transports listeners to a glorious blend of Foster The People meets COIN, making this one track you don’t want to sleep on this summer!
“‘Talk’ is about putting off the hard conversations about how you’re doing with people you care about,” shared Long. “It’s always been a challenge for me to really discuss how I’m feeling mentally while I’m struggling (outside of music), and this song is about a relationship that failed because of that lack of communication.”
