Philadelphia’s Sharing Contest recently released their debut album, Lucky You!, and have been making quite a name for themselves in the Philly area music scene. They even have a killer cover of Taylor Swift’s “Style” that is a must hear!
Focus track, “Fade,” is a dreamy, shoegaze meets emo/indie gem that has an all-too-relatable backstory of becoming disillusioned with the world and social media that will make fans of Muted Color and Teenage Wrist smile.
“‘Fade’ was written at a time when I was feeling extremely disillusioned with the world. The internet has become this sort of feedback loop of negativity where every day there’s a new sensationalized tragedy. The writing process of this song was a way of releasing my feelings in a stream of consciousness, and ultimately reassuring myself that I am strong and the world will be ok.”
