If there was ever a time to talk about mental health issues, it is now. Hailing from Péru, electro-pop trio, Overjoy, share their own struggles in new track, “Same.”
Often the one word we use when listening to the harrowing existential tales of our peers, “Same” is a comforting shoulder to lean on while in the middle of a chaotic time in one’s life. “You keep on running from the same thing, I only noticed cause I’m running the same way,” sings frontwoman Alexis – an empathetic notion that feels all too foreign to those running, trying to find their way. “We all are searching, trying to find our identities, and figure out where they fit into the grand scheme of things. To each of us, this task seems especially personalized and unlike anyone else’s plight. We are trying to translate some peace of mind to our listeners – telling them we all go through the same damn thing.”
