Indie-pop artist, Olen, should be synonymous with summer! Always coming through with infectious gems, the LA-based singer/songwriter has unleashed new single, “Power Socket” today, and it’s not to be missed!
Reminiscent of some good ol’ summer bops from Great Good Fine Ok and St. Lucia, “Power Socket” dives into that oh-so-awkward situation of having a crush on someone but deciding on keeping it to yourself as to not create more awkwardness. Relatability: CHECK!
“Power Socket” is set to be featured on Olen’s forthcoming debut EP, So Codependent, due out July 28.
“When I was three I stuck a house key in a power socket. When I was twenty five I met a girl who worked at a coffee shop and developed a crush,” shares Olen. “Never asked her out because I was afraid to create an awkward situation. So I wrote a song about her instead. Even played it at an open mic there once because it was just non-specific enough. She’s a wonderful human and I hope she’s well.”
