Safe to say, London writing duo Oh Wonder’s journey of the past two or so years is one gigantic achievement that somehow managed to avoid the very mainstream. They are still the alternative pop world’s secret darlings while their soothing melodies pop up here and there, making you smile proudly on your random coffee shop and supermarket visits.
Soon after coming off an intensive worldwide touring cycle for their 2015 self-titled debut album, they went back into the studio to start working on their sophomore record. New single, “Ultralife,” is the first teaser of what’s to come, baring their signature piano-driven sound, where the uplifting lyrics of newfound love meet unusually dancy melodies for Oh Wonder. It’s like spring arriving to lift the winter melancholy.
