Alt-rock band, Night Talks, recently captured our attention with their Mazzy Star-esque track, “In Dreams,” taken off of their album of the same name. Described as a band that will “remind you of the first time you stayed in your room all night listening to a record,” Night Talks are the band to chill out to this summer when you need a little alone time to self-reflect and watch the stars. Crafting a lullaby of sorts for the restless, “In Dreams” shows us that it’s okay to hurt and that in time, all will feel new again.
“‘In Dreams’ came about when we wanted a song to close the album with. Nothing felt right to conclude it. Then Jacob called me after work one day because he had a truly awful day and needed to talk to someone about it. He then went home and wrote the music, sent it over to me, and told me that the song is about having a terrible day and then realizing that you can, indeed, move past it, “ shared frontwoman Soraya Sebghati. “Everyone deals with really awful things in their lives, and we wanted this song to remind people that more often than not, you can move on and try to enjoy what life has to offer you. It just takes time.”
