Kyson – the musical project of Australian-born, Berlin-based producer/composer/vocalist Jian Liew – began his career when he unexpectedly won an official Bon Iver remix competition for the song “Holocene.” That early recognition of his work pushed Liew to take his music more seriously and pursue his dream.
Luckily for us, we are now graced with the infectious track, “Every High” released via Majestic Casual Records in July. The song is set to be featured on a 4-track vinyl out on September 21.
Both chilling and poignant, “Every High” reaches a point of no return once a simple wisdom is learned and the notion of pleasing others is a distant memory as self-reflection comes into play.
“I wanted to write a song about overcoming the feeling or need we have as individuals to modify ourselves and our personalities to please others in our daily lives… about how honesty and trust can help overcome this pressure of pleasing, and the journey of finding the way towards both of these emotions.”
