We didn’t have to wait long for new music from indie/dream-pop artist, Jesse D’Kora!
The singer’s newest creation, “Morning Light,” taps into D’Kora’s DIY roots, blending 90’s-esque euphoria with modern day shoegaze to form a breezy yet gripping track about a couple that might have been doomed from the start. We’ve all been a part of one of those, eh?
“Morning Light” follows the singer’s stunning debut track, “Far From Home.” Be on the lookout for a couple more songs to drop this year with more coming in 2022!
“[‘Morning Light’] is intended to be hazy, like a cloudy beer on a night when you have sunken plenty of them,” shared D’Kora. “Inspired by unforgettable nights that were mostly forgotten, it tries to tell a story of an incompatible couple. One side searching for a meaningful connection but realising that beauty is only skin deep and the other caught in a time loop where what is easy is what sticks. Writing songs about love or relationships is something which I tend to wince whilst doing, however with this track the mood just kind of felt right. The jumping and wavy chorused guitars just strung a note to that feeling you get when you can’t find the straight line within your own head.”
