Indie/dream-pop artist, Jesse D’Kora, has returned with brand spankin’ new single, “In The North Sea Air,” and we’re pretty sure it’s his best thus far!
100% DIY, D’Kora writes, records, mixes and masters all of his material at his home in Manchester, UK, offering an organic shoegaze meets dream-pop element to his tracks that’s hard to dismiss.
Delving into his experiences growing up in a very small town, “In The North Sea Air” offers a more direct approach to his songwriting as he explores the polar opposites of moving on while loved ones still remain in a rather bleak environment.
“In The North Sea Air” follows previous releases, “Morning Light” & “Far From Home” and will be the penultimate one for the year with more to come in 2022!
“This is a song for anyone who grew up in a crappy little town with zero culture, zero life and zero prospects. I wrote this song about growing up in Bridlington, UK, which is a northern sleepy grey deprived place, that is actually fucking freezing (even in summer). Obviously since my time there I have grown up, moved on and embraced a new life. However, I still know a lot of people who never moved and continue to live there. This song is about how that was never going to be me. This is probably my most direct song lyrically to date, and there is a sense of anxiousness that looms over me being so open, especially when in real life I’m kinda shy.”
