Since debuting in 2023, London alt-pop band, Good Time Locomotive, have dazzled the hearts – and ears – of many. Today marks the release of the band’s self-titled party anthem, “GTL,” that is not to be missed!
Reminiscent of Blossoms meets The 1975, “GTL,” may refer to celebration, but was actually conceived during COVID lockdowns. Showcasing a time when togetherness was more important than ever but quite impossible, “GTL” honors the preparation it takes to release something at the most perfect time.
“Funnily enough, we wrote this feel-good party rock track in the midst of the first COVID lockdown on Zoom! Hardly a party atmosphere, but maybe it was us all missing the human connection that helped give it the upbeat vibe it has. Whatever it was, the line ‘Good Time Locomotive’ seemed to suit the ‘triumph over adversity through the power of music’ message behind the songs, so we went with it for our band name.”
