NYC-based indie/alt-pop singer/producer, Dominique, is probably the best thing that’s made its way into my inbox lately. She’s currently gearing up for the release of her debut EP later this year and has made her way into some pretty rad Spotify featured playlists.
New track, “If I Could Go Back” is like if Banks ditched her brooding dark pop & R&B and went full-blown 80’s synthpop but hired TLC just for the fun of it. Bottom line, you don’t wanna sleep on this one, folks!
“The hook for this track came to me when I was reminiscing about parts of my college years. I moved to NYC from Florida when I was 18 and that was a big change for me–I often felt totally out of place and unconfident. Now that I’m older and more adjusted, I can’t believe I let my fear of saying something stupid keep me from speaking out all the time.” the singer stated. “It’s funny how as we get older, the stuff that used to scare the hell out of us begins to seem so insignificant. This song is all about wishing you could go back, relive, and make the most out of those times you felt most insecure, but with the inclusion of your newfound confidence.”
