Pop singer/songwriter, Dela Kay, has been through a lot lately. Like any true creative, Kay has used her pain to fuel her power and now listeners have a new anthem to blast whenever they need a little mood boost!
New single, “Old News,” allowed the singer to take control of her life again after several traumatic events – a head injury with long-lasting side effects followed by a sexual assault – causing her to spiral into a deep depression while taking a brief hiatus from music.
With an early aughts pop/punk Avril Lavigne meets modern day Olivia Rodrigo vibe, “Old News” is sure to be a relatable and appreciated addition to those end-of-summer road trip playlists!
“I’ve been through a lot over this past year and although it’s been super difficult, I feel like I’m finally writing some of my most authentic songs,” shared the singer. “I am super excited to grow closer to my fans and let them know it’s ok to feel like you’re drowning in uncertainty sometimes. It just means you’re getting closer to the other side. Keep going.”
