The Tennessee air has proven itself several times in the past to be of special quality for those wanting to pursue art. Nashville, the stateside music capital produced some of the finest acts in the past while also nurturing entire generations of young talent. One of them is Patrick Barry who is making music under the intriguing moniker Crooked Cat Adams.
His Americana/indie folk songs bring the idyllic wilderness of the surrounding countryside and the never-ending camping and road trips to mind; almost as if someone wrote a soundtrack to Jack Kerouac’s On The Road. Forecasting the singer’s brand new EP arrival in September, the title track, “1000 Miles to Cordova,” released today, is combining the base of the musical direction with mild trumpet and marching drum beats. Although the ending of the song is quite sudden, compared to the steady flow of melancholic lyrics and the music, it does not take much away from the entertaining qualities.
