Liverpool based Cavalry are currently gearing up for a debut EP release later this autumn. The first track to see the light off See The Night Perform is “Heresy” that is surely a fitting first introduction to this emerging band.
“’Heresy’ finds the band thematically informed by the present – asking where hope can be found in an unnoticed dystopia where once modern fears are normalized.” – all of which is dressed in an indie-folk sound, with vocals that represent the exact same longing. As the track comes to an end and the instruments take over, it goes out in a way that could easily be the highlight of an upcoming festival set. It’s like early Mumford and Sons with a melancholic twist, aka. perfect autumn music. Thumbs up from us!
