Most of us have gone through at least basic classical music training throughout school years, or even spent a couple of years in a choir, like the writer that has no idea how she ended up there. While the industry is full of talented musicians, the pop and rock genres we mostly cover don’t really rely on such thing – unless you are the multi-instrumentalist singer and songwriter under the moniker, Bird.
Thanks to the classical music training on cello and the experience as session musician for artists like Emelie Sande and Vanessa Mae, the result is simple at first electro-pop lounge music with hidden influences and instrumental layers yet to be discovered with each listen. All of this topped with smooth high-pitched vocals that magically echo through songs like Bird’s new single “Hurricane,” to be released on August 11 from the new record Inside Out, to be released later this year. It’s one of those tracks where all you have to do is sit back, relax, and let the music take you on a journey.
