VHS Collection are an electronic indie-rock band from NYC known for their kaleidoscope-synth sounds and high energy live shows. They’re set to release their self-titled debut EP, produced by famed Brooklyn producer Abe Seiferth (RAC, Bear In Heaven, LCD Soundsystem) on December 14 and lead single, “Lean,” is gaining quite the momentum. Starting out during the winter of 2014, the trio comprised of James Bohannon, Conor Cook and Nils Vanderlip have played music together since they were kids growing up in NYC but have now found themselves playing venues such as Baby’s All Right, The Studio at Webster Hall and Mercury Lounge. The band is set to perform at Brooklyn’s Rough Trade on December 18.
Dreamy synths and 80’s harmonies, the band has been compared to the likes of Passion Pit and MGMT but we think you’ll discover more within their music if you really listen.
