Many of you might have been caught up in the mini-series that is Big Little Lies. The mystery, the brilliant cast, the unusually artistic visual elements are all part of why we’re binging and surely everybody has become addicted to the amazingly vibe-y soundtrack by now.
Discovering the music of Phoenix Martins, a singer-songwriter and DJ from London, could not come at a more fitting time. The rather electronic pop-fusion is quite out of personal comfort zones, yet her mesmerizing vocals have the power of mystery; like stepping into the ambient atmosphere of an art installation but for your ears.
If Lykke Li’s Scandinavian eeriness and the Californian beach goth of Lana Del Rey is your piece of cake, definitely be on the look-out for Phoenix Martins in the coming months and get a clue of who she is as an artist from her two previous releases, 47 and Retrospective.
