[Daily Discovery] Nic Pool

When you immediately click with an artist’s debut track, you know right in your heart that you’ve chosen one to keep your eyes on. All the way from the lovely land of Arizona, we’d like to introduce you to your new favorite soulful singer-songwriter.

Currently splitting time between Arizona and LA, Nic Pool is a newcomer whose timbre recalls the timeless desire & heartache of Bon Iver, with the moody existential angst of Portishead.

“The Falls” is Pool’s debut track- a subtle jazz with a bit of R&B-injected pop – making his debut one to stand out among others, and definitely an artist we’d like to keep on our radar.

“The song is about how grief can feel like being stuck beneath a waterfall; How loss can derail you, overtake you, numb you, and sometimes it takes years to pull yourself out of the cycle.”
