When I first stumbled upon BANNERS about a month ago now – massive shout out to those weekly playlists Spotify makes up for you – I knew that his songs were going to be ones I’d never get tired of listening to on repeat.
Born in Liverpool, UK, BANNERS has been earning himself a lot of attention since the release of his debut EP which had a massive and quite positive reception given the fact that this talented singer is only at the beginning of his career.
“Start a Riot” was the first song I had the pleasure to listen to, and needless to say it got me hooked from the very first second. When the song first started I never thought I’d be hearing such a powerful sound that would turn out to be one of the most amazing combinations (of music and vocals) I’ve ever heard. The power encompassed in his voice has to be the product of his earlier years since he was a part of a Cathedral Choir in Liverpool, and trust me, it’s quite a beautiful thing that he keeps those choir boy vibes within his style.
His most recently released single “Half Light” comes out from the soundtrack of the E! TV series The Royals. The song, stunning and beautiful, features only BANNERS’ vocals accompanied by the piano and a couple of strings.
His name has already been targeted at a couple music festivals from around the globe (including the Reading Festival and Leeds in the UK, and X-Fest in Canada), and though it may only seem like BANNERS is at the beginning of his career, I have a feeling that we’re bound to see bigger things for this young and talented musician.
